About

Hi there, I’m Megan. Welcome!

I started this blog because I think my story, like everyone else’s, is an important one to tell. A year ago I felt isolated in my struggle with fear and anxiety. You could find me sitting on the couch, at the dining room table, or in the car, scrolling through social media sites wishing I could be like the badass women I saw. During that time, I was scared of every fat-chance possibility. I imagined hundreds of different scenarios that resulted in tragedy. It was paralyzing.

Sometime earlier this year, I reassessed my life and made a firm decision to walk alongside my fear with hopes to overcome it. I started this blog to document that journey.

Now I spend my time ski touring in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, climbing whatever rock face I can find in the Wasatch-Uinta-Cache forests, geeking out over the amount of books at the City Library in downtown Salt Lake, and drinking weak coffee and strong tea in the adorable home I share with my husband.

This messy narrative of my life is about recovering from the fear of failure and learning to embrace it. It’s about empowering people to pursue whatever it is that sets their hearts on fire. It’s stories and sentiments from my very imperfect life and my personal pursuit of joy, wonder, and adventure.

Feel free to see what I’m up to. I enjoy writing about Veganism/Vegetarianism and why it’s important. I explore my own journey in lead climbing and how it’s shaped and redefined what I think I’m capable of. I venture into ideas about trail work and sustainability. And most importantly I try to find the best words to understand the importance of getting women into the outdoors.

I hope that in my everyday attempts to find the courage to try the hard things I can inspire you, to inspire someone else, to do the same thing.
